The Ely Repair Cafe is gearing up for its 8th event on Saturday, 25 October 2025. We need your help to reach a significant milestone. We are just 200kg of CO2 away from hitting the 1.5 tonne mark. Could you be the person to help us tip over? On average, we save 186kgs of CO2 each time we host a Repair Cafe. This time, we aim to save 200kgs. What a fantastic way to round off the year!

What to Bring

If you have a broken appliance, jewellery, clothing, or anything else, come along! You’ll not only be helping the environment but also saving money. Our experienced repairers will be on hand to assess your item and attempt a repair—all completely free of charge!

Enjoy a Community Atmosphere

It’s always a lovely day at the Repair Cafe. We offer tea, coffee, and cake for a small donation to help keep things running. The atmosphere is wonderful, filled with interesting items being taken apart, understood, and carefully put back together.

What Can You Fix?

Do you have something broken that you don’t know how to fix but can’t bear to throw away? Perhaps a toaster, kettle, lamp, bag, toy, jewellery, or even a pair of jeans? Bring it along to the Repair Cafe on Saturday, 25 October from 11.00am to 2.00pm in Ely Library. Our experienced volunteer repairers will pinpoint the problem and try to fix it on the spot. If they can’t, they will guide you on what spare parts to get for your next visit.

The Impact of Repair Cafes

Our repairers are eager to share their skills, prevent items from ending up in landfill, and lessen the environmental impact of buying new products. So far, we’ve saved enough CO2 to be equivalent to growing 22 tree seedlings for 10 years and avoided almost 250kg of waste.
