Representatives of the Baby Bank had given a talk to the Rotary Club some months previously and had told them that the Baby Bank is a Free Community Project to bring people together and one of around 200 known groups in the Country. They have 35 active volunteers of all ages and skills to sort donations suitable for babies up to the age of 18 months and provide a happy space, support, help and friendship to visitors.

The type of goods on offer include baby clothes, high-chairs, cots, bedding, baby baths, toys, books and limited buggies, milk and nappies. No referral was needed and anyone was welcome. They have a strong recycling ethos and only offer good quality items from smoke free homes with any unsuitable items going to recycling to help fund the project which receives no Government funding.

Donations can be left at the Bank Monday to Saturday with plenty of parking available and the Bank is open to browse on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9.30 to 1pm.

They have grown from helping 300 visitors in 2020 to over 5000 in 2024 including visitors from as far as Suffolk and Norwich which highlighted the widespread need for such help. More updated information is available on their web site: elybabybank.com
